Ecstatic Vision – For The Masses - CD-Digi
Philadelphia Heavy Psych quartet Ecstatic Vision (regarded as the second coming of vintage Hawkwind) returns with their new album “For the Masses!” After bursting onto the scene with their 2015 tribal-psychedelic LP, Sonic Praise, touring the USA with Yob and Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, crushing Roadburn, Ecstatic Vision have pulled themselves out of the muck to deliver their finest album to date.
This album is the closest the band has gotten to achieving the energy of their untouchable live shows on tape.
"For the Masses" blends Tripped-out Synth, Semi-Catatonic Desert driving tunes, Afro-tribal Funkadelic Vibes, Troglodyte-Detroit Rock grooves, Acid Freak-Outs, Ethereal Psychedelic Hymns, and Mind-Altering Kraut Rock into Ecstatic Vision's outsider take on modern music.
Giöbia – Plasmatic Idol - CD-Digi
The new Giöbia album “Plasmatic Idol” is simply impressive: a collection of different sounds and atmospheres, brings the listener to another sidereal world full of dreams and mind travels.
You can clearly feel the influence of certain Pink Floyd in some passages but also pinches of Italian Progressive Rock, Horror Soundtrack from 70’s movies, garage 60’s influences, US West Coast Psychedelia, and late 60’s Space Rock a la Hawkwind.
The production is delicate and smooth, the album flows without interruptions and the music immerses your mind in a cosmic dimension.
The vintage organs and synthesizers are used in the best way possible, 8 tracks that capture your attention without distraction.
Planet Of Zeus – Faith In Physics - CD-Digi
In 2019, at a time in which irrationalism seems to be king, Planet of Zeus return with their highly anticipated fifth studio album, "Faith in Physics".
Lyrically, this album seems to be Planet of Zeus's most socio-politically conscious release, dealing with themes such as digitalization, religion, social network pseudo-revolution, addiction and lonerism.
Musically, it sounds like the band's chosen to take the dirtiest path possible in order to create the highly charged atmosphere needed to get its messages through.
46 minutes of heavy, intellectual riffology and fat grooves, reminiscent of RATM's best days, MC5-esque attitude, coupled with QOTSA's pop sensibilities.
Gorilla - Treecreeper - CD-Digi
TREECREEPER - the first full length album by Gorilla since 2007’s Rock Our Souls.
Preserving the classic Gorilla chest beatin’, full throttle sound, Treecreeper’s 9 (-count ‘em!!!) slices of mind bending, sh*t storm rock combine elements of stoner, high energy, doom and heavy psych rock honed to razor sharp fuzz-toned perfection.
Recorded in good old fashioned analogue at Moles awesome North Downs Studio, Gorilla create a none stop, white knuckle, maximum riffin’ HELL RIDE that will break your ears and loosen your rears! As one review of a recent show stated “Gorilla sound like Blue Cheer, Motorhead and St Vitus all playing in the same room at the same time”!
Gorilla are BACK to fuzz up your screams and rupture ya spleen in 2019!!
Glitter Wizard – Opera Villains - CD Digi
Are they glam? Are they metal? Stoner rock? Psych? Prog? For over a decade, people have been trying to pin down Glitter Wizard but this San Francisco band refuses to be pigeonholed. Pulling influences from the entire heavy rock canon, G Wiz combines scorching guitar riffs and spaced out synths to creates something familiar, yet entirely new and weird. Their latest album, Opera Villains, brings the heat that we've come to expect from the band but adds a layer of dramatism that we haven't heard before.
Nebula - Demos & Outtakes 98-02 - CD-Digi
Set for a release on January 25th 2019 via Heavy Psych Sounds, the 'Demos & Outtakes 98-02' will include 5 tracks that have never seen the light of day before (!!), alongside rare demos as well as cover songs such as the unique live version of Black Flag's 'Nervous Breakdown'! Beside these never published demos to date, the known tracks on this album are different to what NEBULA originally released on their previous records such as on 'Charged' or 'To The Center'.
Killer Boogie – Acid Cream - CD-Digi
Acid Cream" marks the fuzzy comeback of KILLER BOOGIE. Gabriele Fiori and Luigi Costanzo are joined by the new bassist Nicola Cosentino on this 11 track long trip. The new album is inspired by the crazy days of the late 60s and the 70s, with a pinch of proto-punk and proto-metal feeling in the sound of this sophomore incredible album. This album is filled with riffs that will please all fuzz & muff lovers.
Fvzz Popvli – Magna Fvzz - CD-Digi
Clear Yellow Vinyl with Blue / Red / Purple Splatter
One year after their rough, lo-fi and rude debut album "Fvzz Dei", "Fvzz Popvli" gave the birth to their 2nd creauture "Magna Fvzz" in latin the Great Fuzz. This newborn by 7 killer tracks between the 60's and 70's psychedelic rock till the 90's Heavy Psych, the album sounds bright and clear with a typical warm rock'n'roll sound and obviously tons and tons of fuzz! The last homonym track is a featuring with Bazu on the Synths, from the mighty acid rockers "Giöbia". Highly recomended if you are a fan of The Stooges, Black Sabbath and Hawkwind!
Dzjenghis Khan – Dzjenghis Khan - CD-Digi
One of the most important Psych - Acid Rock albums of the new millenium. The Dzjenghis Khan self-titled debut album was released in 2007 by the Dutch indipendent label Motorwolf. The San Francisco based band Dzjenghis Khan featured bassist Carson Binks (also in Wild Eyes and Saviours), drummer Tommy Tomson and guitarist Lane Rider. This record reflects the musical scene of that era and it's still a raw acid rock pearl! Heavy Psych Sounds Records is so proud to bring back to the current audience a piece of real Acid Rock. Dzjenghis Khan was one of the first bands to bring back the “psych sound”, in a time where there was not real audience, we can say they've been pioneers after the pioneers!
Ape Machine – Coalition Of The Unwilling - CD Digi
A true four-piece, Portland, Oregon's Ape Machine has been called "a rock and roll band with a finger on the pulse of the 70's and their asses firmly in the present" and "real heavy-psych for the iPhone generation" that delivers "true guts and glory rock and roll." Combining psychedelic, classic and progressive rock with arena-worthy metal, bluesy stoner-rock and catchy riffs in odd signatures, Ape Machine's music carries an organic depth and warmth rarely heard since the time of rock's glorious early years (or your Dad's bad ass record collection) infused with an exceptional modern sensibility.
Nudist - See The Light Beyond The Spiral - CD Digi
Released by DioDrone, Santa Valvola, Taxi Driver Records, Shove Records, Death+Crush, Oniric Recs, Audioglobe.
Lleroy – Dissipatio Hc - CD Digi
“Dissipatio HC” is the third effort from Italy’s hardest-hitting power trio Lleroy. Hailing from the central wasteland of the country they deliver a tight yet brutal pummeling assault filled with uptempo, syncopated power beats, razor-sharp guitar riffing and over saturated vocals – the ideal soundtrack for a trainwreck headed over a kindergarten.
FFO: Unsane, Melvins, Cows and the good ol’days of AmRep records.
